And by Nola, I don’t mean Jack’s daughter. Looks like I’ll be going to New Orleans come April. Fun!! My buddy Lisa and I go to concerts. She used to live in Las Vegas, which made it pretty easy to see who we wanted to see. Since she’s moved, I’ve been to Portland and Vancouver to see shows. We’ve been trying to see Mumford & Sons for a while. This latest tour is only hitting the mid-west/texas/alabama/new orleans route, so taking the opportunity to go to New Orleans! I’ve never been, so should be pretty fun. We’ll also probably swing by Austin, Texas where Lisa’s daughter is living. But not ’til April, so plenty of time to come up with a plan.
So funny deal. Funny what happens when you let go of some self-inflicted stress. I decided to let go of worrying about perfectly healthy food and concentrate on cooking my own food, whatever it may be. The idea is, hey, if grabbing a peanut butter and jelly sandwich stops me from running to Chick-fil-A, then I’m going to go with the PBJ. So I went to the store and bought groceries and cooked a nice dinner, complete with leftovers for tomorrow. And it was all good for me: pork chops, steamed broccoli, roasted potatoes and homemade applesauce. I also had some rosemary olive oil bread, which normally would have been a no go. But off to a good start!
And now I’ve got to get on that illustration due tomorrow. I didn’t spend as much time on it as I planned over the weekend, so may need to stay up a little late to get it done. No big. I’ve got tomorrow’s lecture/presentation ready for class tomorrow, so I’m at least all set with one project! :-)
